Knit One - Prayer, Too!
Knit One, Prayer Too is the name of a group that is a unique blend of the art of knitting and the enhancement of one's prayer life. Would you like to learn to knit? Roz Klein and Sandy Clark would be glad to teach you. For those already experienced in this art form, please come and join in our new fellowship.
How does prayer weave its way into this small group? Prayer is a major
focus for our group, and is seen in a tangible
way in our knitted creations. Have you ever heard of a "prayer shawl?"
It's quite simple to make, and
with each stitch of the shawl there would be prayers lifted up for the
person who is to receive the shawl.
For those just beginning to knit, we will be making simple scarves. Whatever you decide to knit, you can be assured of one thing: the recipient of what your hands and hearts create will indeed know the love of God.
What supplies will you need? You can go to A.C. Moore or Michael's Arts and Crafts and purchase size 11 or 13 knitting needles. You will need 2 skeins of Lion Brand homespun yarn for a scarf, and 3 skeins for a prayer shawl. Pick the color of your choice, but make sure the skeins are from the same dye lot!
Prayer One, Knit Too meets on the first and third Monday evenings. Call the church for more information.
